At the Tokyo Game Show, Sony confirmed that the PlayStation Vita would be hitting stores in Japan on December 17th. Of course, this made us all wonder when the Vita would be making its way to the States. Well, gaming blog Just Push Start claims a post on the PlayStation Blog went up revealing the American release date as February 28. However, they said that the post was taken down only a few minutes later, and unfortunately they have no evidence of it ever being up. They didn’t get a chance to take a screen capture or copy the text, the post failed to show up on any RSS feeds, and the page is unfindable via Google cache or any other internet way-back-machine services.
Dear Playstation Nation, It is my pleasure to announce that PS Vita will be launching in North America on February 28, 2012. As it was announced during E3, PS Vita will in two different models: Wifi Only for $249.99 and Wifi+3G for $299.99. This portable powerhouse will take you beyond your imaginations and put you in the ultimate hand held experience. So this story is looking pretty fake, but Sony did say they would launch the Vita sometime early in 2012. However, their official word on this report is that they have yet to announce any date for the Vita in the U.S. or Europe. Everything else is just the random hot air of the internet. By Angelo M.
