Shadow Complex Remastered Gets Physical on PS4

Shadow Complex Remastered Gets Physical on PS4

Shadow Complex made its debut on the Xbox Live Arcade back in 2009. Developed by Epic, Shadow Complex wore a mask of dudebro casual appeal, but once players dove in they found a deep, addictive, and, well, complex metroidvania buried underneath. The protagonist feels deadly and able from the beginning, but with every secret discovered and upgrade applied, you feel more and more like a superhero. The classic “explore so you can find stuff to help you explore even more” hook works better in this game than in any other I’ve played, even recently.

Shadow Complex was so well-reviewed, and attracted such a cult following, that it merited a remaster back in March. The remaster is available digitally on Xbox One, PC, and PS4, and pretty soon PS4 players will be able to get their hands on a physical copy. Limited Run Games will be offering a boxed version of Shadow Complex Remastered for a very limited time. The game will cost $25, and pre-orders begin on Friday, August 19 at 10AM EDT. A second batch will be available the same day beginning at 6PM. This is a great way to snag yourself a one-of-a-kind copy of one of the best adventure games of the past couple generations, so don’t miss out.
