Lionhead Studio confirmed via its Twitter account that Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley of Ghandi, Sexy Beast, BloodRayne, and soon-to-be-released Prince of Persia fame will be lending his vocal stylings to Fable III. The Lionhead Tweet posted earlier today simply stated: “Sir Ben Kingsley to appear in Fable III. We’ve said it before, greatest cast EVER!” We’re inclined to take them at their word. According to gaming site CVG via VG247, as hyperlinked by Lionhead in the Twitter post, Sir Kingsley will take on the role of a goodly mage called the King of Mists. “I’m a voice in a new video game shortly – Fable III. I’m a wonderful wizard character who is the king of Mist Peak,” Kingsley told CVG. He continued to say that acting in games is an exciting, challenging venture – a new horizon for actors: “It’s very energising and good for us actors to realise that [acting] is so diverse now. [Games] are as big a jump now as I suppose when cinema was invented, when people went from the stage to the cinema thinking: It’s not really acting, is it? Now, it’s video games – and it is acting. It’s very demanding.” |
