Sony Changes It’s Driveclub Upgrade Plans

Sony Changes It’s Driveclub Upgrade Plans

Sony recently announced an interesting plan for releasing its upcoming PS4 racing game, i>Driveclub. The game would come out for free on PS Plus, and then users would be able to upgrade to the full version of the game for only fifty dollars. However, this became problematic when Sony announced that anyone who let their PS Plus subscription expire would also lose all the content in the game.

Luckily, Sony has gone back on this plan. Now, by purchasing Driveclub via an upgrade you will own the game even if your PS Plus subscription runs out. Sony had this to say about the upgrade on the official EU PlayStation Blog.

“Our priority for Driveclub is to enable you to play and enjoy everything it has to offer and PlayStation recognises that the prior plan for Driveclub entitlement for the upgrade to the PS Plus edition was not appropriate. As a result, we have adjusted the PlayStation Plus terms for Driveclub. Now, If you intend on downloading Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition, and upgrading to the full game experience, you will have access to the full game even if your PlayStation Plus subscription runs out.”
