Sony Moves to Remove Risqué Digital Images of Ellen Page from the Internet

The digital likeness of Ellen Page can be found (sort of) nude in Quantic Dream’s new game, Beyond Two Souls . Following a leak of these images to Reddit and Imgur, Sony has begun requesting that sites hosting the content take it down.
I can’t imagine the images damaging Sony in terms of business, and a controversy such as this is the sort of thing that is usually good for marketing, so is it possible that Sony’s PR really prefers that images of the unintentional nudity not circulate, out of respect. It certainly seems so.
And, Sony’s position is entirely understandable. In addition to the fact that a digitally rendered “nip-slip” is just about the lamest form of tabloid journalism conceivable, the publication of these materials is inherently disrespectful to Ellen Page.
“The images are from an illegally hacked console and is very damaging for Ellen Page,” reads a Sony statement shared with Cinema Blend. “It’s not actually her body. I would really appreciate if you can take the story down to end the cycle of discussion around this.”
The incident is reminiscent of Quantic Dreams last release, Heavy Rain, where, under circumstances, the female character Madison can be found nude. Actor’s likenesses were also used in that title.
