Sony’s Mark Cerny and Andrew House Will Discuss PlayStation’s Past and Future at Develop 2014

Sony’s Mark Cerny and Andrew House Will Discuss PlayStation’s Past and Future at Develop 2014

Sony’s CEO Andrew House and Lead Architect Mark Cerny will cohost the keynote, “20 years of PlayStation, 40 years of Console Games and 100 Years to Come,” at Develop 2014. The two will discuss the past and future—the next 100 years—of the PlayStation brand, as well as how the original PlayStation pushed video games into mainstream appeal.

“It is hard to believe it has been 20 years since the arrival of the first PlayStation,” reflected House. “Mark Cerny and I will look back over this fantastic period in which console gaming became mainstream, how our experiences shaped PlayStation 4 and where the industry will go from here.”

Cerny, who will be named Development Legend at Develop 2014, also reflected on the lessons learned while working with the PlayStation brand. “We learnt a lot of lessons over the past 20 years, which shaped the decisions taken in designing the PlayStation 4. The Develop in Brighton conference is a wonderful opportunity for us to share some of these experiences with the industry and discuss what the future might hold.”

Develop 2014 will be hosted in Brighton from July 8-10. Do you have any fond memories of previous PlayStation consoles or have any ideas about the future of the brand? Leave a comment below! Also, is anyone else experiencing flashbacks to the PlayStation 9 commercial?
