Square Enix Reveals Release Date and Price for Chaos Rings 3 in Japan

Square Enix Reveals Release Date and Price for Chaos Rings 3 in Japan

Approximately 2 years after the last game, Square Enix has finally announced Chaos Rings 3 albeit only for Japan. While they haven’t revealed any localization plans, we do know that the game will be released in Japan this October 16. We also know that will no longer be exclusive to smartphones, as the company will release it on the PlayStation Vita in addition to iOS and Android.

The PS Vita version of Chaos Rings 3 will be bundled with The Prequel Trilogy , which includes the original, Omega , and Chaos Rings 2 . The original game was known for bringing the look and feel of the PS1 Final Fantasy games to touchscreen devices. The original game also allowed players to choose to play from the perspective of multiple couples, each of whom had to participate in a bloody tournament for rights of survival of the fittest. The bundle should hopefully ease in newcomers to the series.

The price, however, may turn off some. According to Pocket Gamer and a currency converter I found via Google, the smartphone version of the game will cost about 2,700 yen or $27.99, and the PS Vita version will cost 4,800 Yen or $46.79. These most likely won’t be the final prices in the West. However, Square Enix’s mobile fans know that their games can be pricey.
