Square Enix has had a rather subdued presence at E3 this year, but some of the company’s subsidiaries have brought interesting projects along. One such project is Gameglobe, a project that hopes to bring simple action-adventure game creation tools to hopeful game makers via the web. Designed by Danish studio Hapti.co, the Gameglobe system is creating quite a bit of buzz at the show. The basics of Gameglobe are straightforward, allowing the player to “paint” game worlds and levels within a web browser, yet the trailer shows some impressive-looking areas that were created using these tools. Buildings and vehicles can be dragged and dropped into the world, as can objects like doors and switches. In order to do something like connecting a switch to trap or making a key that opens a door, the objects simply need to be connected together using Gameglobe’s interface, no programming required.
