There are three categories of MMOs these days: MMOs that are free to play, MMOs that are failing, and MMOs that are World of Warcraft. Star Trek Online is not World of Warcraft and is not failing, so you know what that means. Recently, Cryptic Studios has announced that Star Trek Online will be going free to play. This means that players will be able to play monthly for free and they won’t need to buy a retail copy of the game to do so.
