Steam Explodes: More Games Released Now Than in All of 2013

In just the first 20 weeks of this year, Steam has released more game on their platform than all the games they released in 2013. This is largely due to Steam Greenlight, which has allowed a lot of indie developers to release their games.

Of course, this has caused some problems. Many games have come out that haven’t fulfilled their advertising promises. Other games are just broken. Still others are simply offensive. Luckily Valve has been good about catching these games and removing them from the Steam platform quickly.

Valve has said that their eventual goal is to make Steam Greenlight go away, but in a good way. They hope that Steam can eventually just be a self-publishing platform, cutting out the middle man.
