Steins;Gate is a serious commitment. This is a visual novel lover’s visual novel. Gameplay in Steins;Gate is almost nonexistent, so if you’re unsure whether or not you can get into a lengthy visual novel, you may want to try a few lighter titles first. This is a 30+ hour behemoth, and the first half of the game is very slow-going. If you can soldier through, you’re in for a mind-blowing experience that you’ll likely never forget.
Until now this story has been best experienced on the PS Vita, but publisher 5pb. announced today that Steins;Gate will be making its long-overdue debut on Steam on September 9. The game’s Steam page is already live, which you can check out here . If you’re wondering, the Steam version will indeed boast 1080p visuals, with updated graphics and illustrations. No word on price yet, but hopefully it’ll be south of $30 since the game has been around for a while.
