Swapnote Comes Back as Swapdoodle

Swapnote Comes Back as Swapdoodle

Back when the 3DS was young, it had a messaging application. Swapnote was a free program that let you send notes to and receive them from both Nintendo and your friends. Special stationary would even unlock with official notes. Unfortunately, people using it to send lewd images ruined it for everyone, and Swapnote went away. But now, a sequel has returned in the form of Swapdoodle .

Swapdoodle is an upgraded version of Swapnote . It’s still a free-to-download messaging app. You can still write and draw messages to people on your friends list. But this time, there are paid elements. An initial pack with one extra ink color (red), four doodling lessons, two sorts of stationary, and storage for an extra 100 notes is available to free. However, people can pay more for extra doodling lessons and packs, with items costing between $3-7.

While the whole paying part of Swapdoodle is silly, the basic premise is sound. Every other device has a messaging method. The 3DS didn’t, and it desperately needed one. It’s good to have such a program back on the system again!
