When Club Nintendo was discontinued earlier this year, it was quite a shame. After all, the loyalty program had offered people free games, accessories and other rewards in exchange for purchasing products and registering their codes. Now, Nintendo has revealed the successor will be called My Nintendo.
My Nintendo will be more than a loyalty program, though people will be able to register software to their account to earn points. It will also allow you to manage your friend list, back up save data for games to the cloud, and will somehow work with theme parks and movies. Any points earned can be put toward physical rewards, game coupons, or even DLC.
My Nintendo will launch in March, 2016. People will be able to sign up for an account using their email address or Nintendo Network ID, as well as social media sites like Facebook, Google, and Twitter.
