The original voice actor for Miles “Tails” Prower, Christopher Evans Welch, has saddly passed away. Welch was shooting a role in the upcoming HBO series Silicon Valley when he was admitted to a local hospital for a sudden illness. He died shortly thereafter for as of yet undisclosed reasons. He was 48 at the time.
Welch starred in over 60 episodes of The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog , the animated series, back in the nineties. It was his original performance that molded Tails’ persona in all Sonic the Hedgehog games following. This was actually his first ever role. Welch is also credited for his work in The Stepford Wives , The Good Shepard , and The Interpreter . He also guested on series such as The Sopranos , The Practice , and Law & Order: Criminal Intent .
