The Tales games are known for their lush visuals, extreme attention to detail, fast-paced combat, and melodrama worthy of the nerdiest anime. While we’ve had no shortage of Tales games recently, fans of the series can’t seem to get enough. They’ll be happy to know that Bandai Namco has announced that Tales of Berseria will be finding its way to the US next year.
The story seems to center on a young, female pirate who goes by the name “Velvet.” She either has a trans-dimensional demon hand or a rather gaudy wrist accessory, I’m not sure which, but it sure does look useful in combat. From what I’ve gathered from the trailer the theme of this tale will be mastery of oneself through the balance of emotions and reason. As part of the press release today we did get a new trailer with some spiffy subtitles that you can watch below. There’s no solid date yet, not even for the Japanese release, but we have every reason to believe that we’ll be playing this game on our PS4s or through Steam sometime next year.
