Tekken 7 Experimenting With One Sided Gameplay

Tekken 7 Experimenting With One Sided Gameplay

Do you have that problem with fighting games where you are better at inputting motions and combos from one side? Well Tekken 7 is experimenting with one sided gameplay, a brand new innovation that may allow you to cater to your one sided gameplay. Essentially, it’s experimenting with a new game mode which locks the camera to keeping one character on one side and one on another. So you will always be approaching your opponent from either the right or left, whatever you want to choose from. You will only have to quarter circle from one side, and combos will always ever take place on one side.

How does this work? Well it’s simple. Two Tekken 7 cabinets can be connected to each other. One cabinet will always show the fight from one camera angle, with player one on the left side, and the other will always show it from another angle, with player two on the same side. The same would be able to be done for online play and there would be very little lag between the two.

Unfortunately, the functionality has limited use outside Japan. You will be unlikely to see two Tekken 7 cabinets side by side in American arcades, and all tournament play will likely force players to play on the same screen. Still, for casual players who just don’t want to learn to quarter circle in the opposite direction, this is a pretty interesting option.
