The Sims 2 is one of the stand-out games in its franchise. The game originally released in 2004 on PC before coming to Mac and consoles the following year. Developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts, the game arrived to universal acclaim. The game is rated 90 on Metacritic placing it on Metacritic’s must-play list.
The Sims 2 Premise
The Sims 2 allows players to create and dress characters called “Sims”. The player has a surprising amount of control over these characters’ lives. You can design neighborhoods and houses. You can control them from birth to death and pair them with or against each other. The Sims have life goals all under the control of the player. The Sims 2 is a fan favorite in the series and is a wonderful entry point.
Sims 2 Main Characters
This is a series of games that don’t have main and side characters in the same way other games would. However, each game does introduce NPC families for player-made sims to interact with. I wouldn’t consider these main characters since you can play the entire game without interacting with them at all but for those who’re interested, you can find a definitive list here.

The Sims 2 Cheat Code FAQ
How do you use cheats in Sims 2?:
Depending on the platform you’re playing the game on, the way you enable cheats is different. On Gamecube and PS2 you need to enter a specific cheat to unlock the cheat gnome which allows you to enable other cheat codes. If you’re playing on original xbox instead of unlocking a cheat gnome you will enter a master code that does the same thing. If you’re playing on PC or Mac all you have to do is open the cheat console by pressing CTRL + SHIFT+ C, on macs the control key is instead the command key but it does the exact same thing.
