The Last Story Headed To America

The Last Story Headed To America

None

A while back, fans started a campaign called “Operation Rainfall” to bring three hardcore Wii RPGs to North America. The first was Xenoblade: Chronicles, which eventually was licensed as a GameStop exclusive. The next was Pandora’s Tower, which so far only has a European release. The final RPG was The Last Story, a personal love letter to the RPG genre from Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi. The game has received rave reviews in Japan, and importers everywhere have been ranting about how amazing the title is.

Though Nintendo was originally rather resistant to bringing out more hardcore-focused titles at the end of the Wii’s lifespan, today it has been revealed that they will be partnering with localization company Xseed Games to bring The Last Story to American shores.

Xseed is known for helping out with Falcom RPGs like The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky and the Ys series. Luckily, they won’t have to do much work on localizing The Last Story, since it is already releasing in Europe complete with a full English translation.
