The Lords Shall Not Cast Their Shadows Upon The Wii U

The Lords Shall Not Cast Their Shadows Upon The Wii U

None

One of the salient points of Nintendo’s Wii U-centric press conference at this year’s E3 was that the system, unlike Nintendo consoles in generations past, would not miss out on the extensive variety of high-quality, third-party titles that make owning an Xbox or a PlayStation brand console so entertaining. That diversity of content is essential, since it avoids long and troublesome gaps between big-name, first-party titles (which has been Nintendo’s problem in the past).

Odd, then, that Dave Cox of Konami has stated that there are no plans, as of yet, to bring the latest console-bound Castlevania title to the Wii U. This is in spite of its companion piece, a side-scroller named Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate, coming to the 3DS, which would seemingly make it a natural fit for the high-definition Wii U.

Instead, Cox has stated that development is centered squarely on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. Perhaps this will change as release approaches and the Wii U’s launch grows imminent.
