The Matrix Online, which was one of the most popular non-Warcraft MMOs of all time, quietly shut down its servers in June of last year, leaving its cult-like legion of fans out in the cold. However, fans did not simply look for another MMO once the servers powered down…they got to work!  Fans have finally gotten some private servers online, and though users will have to create new accounts and start over with their Matrix experience from scratch, they plan on re-building the community over time and creating a viable experience for old and new fans. |
