The Original Romancing SaGa Has Been Translated Into English

Looking for a new JRPG to play? Well, we know that AAA companies aren’t putting out much in the JRPG sphere right now, so maybe it’s time to look to an unplayed classic.

Translation group DDS Translations has now finished a full English language translation of Square’s 1992 JRPG Romancing SaGa . You may have played other games in the SaGa series, but this was where it all began. This game was voted one of Famitsu’s top 100 games of all time, and is considered just as much of a classic as Final Fantasy IV in certain circles. It was also one of the industry’s first open world RPGs, and it gave you a ton of flexibility in letting you pick one of eight different main characters to play through the story with. It’s been a shame that it has been denied to American audiences until now, but at least that has finally changed.

Head on over to Romhacking.net to download the translation. Note you will have to, ahem, legally obtain a ROM of the original Romancing SaGa to be able to play it.
