Tribes: Ascend Looking For Beta Testers

Tribes: Ascend Looking For Beta Testers

None

Tribes fans will finally be able to sink their teeth into the much anticipated Tribes: Ascend very soon. Hi-Rez Studios is planning to kick off beta testing for the game within the next few weeks and is currently taking applications from salivating gamers. Apparently, the studio is planning to allow thousands of testers to be accepted.

Ever since the release of the original Tribes title, the franchise has turned out a series of increasingly flavorless sequels, but the community has been keeping their fingers crossed for Ascend. Part of the excitement comes from Hi-Rez’s announcement that Tribes: Ascend would adopt a free-to-play model.

Tribes: Ascend’s initial beta run will concentrate on four multiplayer maps, two game modes, three vehicles and a smattering of new classes. And don’t worry if you’re not selected for the initial beta run. Hi-Rez is planning to “continue to increase the number of beta participants through the end of this year in preparation for a general game release in Q1 of 2012.”

I’m already signed up. Are you?
