Ubisoft CEO Would Love Another Splinter Cell

Ubisoft CEO Would Love Another Splinter Cell

Splinter Cell is a franchise I’m familiar with by proxy. My dad played them a ton when I was growing up. I can recall moments of him playing with my uncle who lived across the country. It was the highlight of his day to play the game with his brother. Now as an adult, whenever I hear the series name I can’t help but smile. And the same is true of many others for different reasons.

Now is the time for all of us to smile along with Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot, as he was apparently doing so when he was interviewed for the Ubisoft blog. He was talking about Splinter Cell of course.

The last entry in the Splinter Cell series was Blacklist in 2013. There was no sign of the franchise at E3 2017. But Guillemot mentioned in a Reddit AMA a while back that Splinter Cell is one of his favorite series, and that it’s a brand they talk about a lot. More recently in the Ubisoft Blog interview, Guillemot mentioned that the company has been getting a lot of Splinter Cell pitches and that they will be picking one.

There were no conclusive dates or facts presented in Guillemot’s statements. But knowing that it’s his favorite series is a great sign, along with all his positive comments about it. Hopefully we’ll hear something soon about Splinter Cell , but be prepared for a long wait if it’s in pre-production.
