During Ubisoft’s fiscal third-quarter call, CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that Splinter Cell: Conviction, R.U.S.E., and I Am Alive are all getting pushed back. Ubisoft has decided to delay Conviction and R.U.S.E. beyond April 2010 (when their fiscal 2010 begins) in order to fortify their 2010-2011 lineup to capture market share and improve profitability. IGN reports that I Am Alive is getting pushed back further, perhaps into fiscal 2011 (starting April 2011). On a better note, the 2010-2011 Ubisoft lineup looks strong indeed. In addition to Conviction and R.U.S.E. consumers can look forward to new Driver and Ghost Recon titles as well as a new entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. According to early reports, the next Assassin’s Creed will not be a simple expansion to ACII, but rather a standalone title (featuring Ezio) that will boast online multiplayer gameplay. |
