Assassin’s Creed Renewed For 2012

Assassin’s Creed Renewed For 2012

None

It was just a minor blurb during an Ubisoft conference call. The call, in chief, dealt with the company’s second fiscal quarter performance and plans for the third fiscal quarter, including projections for releases such as Assassin’s Creed Revelations (pre-order numbers are higher than those of Brotherhood, but not enough so as to be significant). There was, however, some brief discussion of plans for the Assassin’s Creed series going forward, into the next year.

Specifically, in keeping with the recent annual release plan, there will be a full-fledged Assassin’s Creed title next year, for which details will be released in the coming months. When Ubisoft says “full-fledged,” though, it isn’t entirely clear whether they mean another, full-on action-adventure experience on consoles or that, in fact, they are ready to leave the side-stories behind and proceed on to another numbered entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Revelations is already expected to tie up the Ezio plotline, and link it back into Altaïr. Will the next Assassin’s Creed see a further hop forward, perhaps into the modern era?
