The Top Video Game Releases Coming in July 2024

With summer on the horizon, gamers can rejoice in the upcoming titles. 2024 seems to be following in 2023’s footsteps with the amount of layoffs in the industry. It’s extremely disheartening because 2024 is one of the best years in gaming. Groundbreaking titles such as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Dragon’s Dogma 2 arrived early this year and more to come as the year go on. Here are the top video game releases coming in July 2024.

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail (July 2nd)

The critically acclaimed MMO, Final Fantasy XIV is receiving a new expansion a few days into July. The expansion is bringing a bunch of new features to the game. Such as new jobs, a new playable race, a new level cap, and much more.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak (July 5th)

The next title in The Legend of Heroes series is releasing on July 5th. The trails games are all a part of a larger story so it’s important to do your research before just hopping in with this title. That being said the game is sure to be a ride no matter what with its beautiful visuals and grand narrative.

Princess Maker 2 Regeneration (July 11th)

Princess Maker 2 Regeneration is a game where you have to raise a daughter delivered to you by the cosmos. You’ll take care of her from 10 years old to 18. Her path in life depends on how well you parent her and other decisions you can make.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown (July 11th)

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has been out for a while now but a Nintendo Switch port will arrive in July. This title offers great visuals, intense dog-fighting action, and now portability. Fans of the Ace Combat series now can enjoy the newest entry.

Cataclismo (July 16th)

Cataclismo is something for those fans of the city and base-building genres. The game follows The Perlas a group tasked with the construction and defense of towers and walls. They must stand against a world plagued by a lethal mist. Fans of strategy games and tower defense might not want to miss out on this game as well.

Asphalt 9: Legends – Asphalt Legends Unite (July 17th)

Fans of the Asphalt franchise can rejoice since a new title is releasing in July. The game will launch with a great cross-play feature on top of its already solid free-to-play design. The game has also been revamped for console players making it the perfect title to jump into the franchise with.

WWE 2K24 DLC 3: Pat McAfee Pack (July 17th)

Frostpunk 2 (July 25th)

This title is the sequel to the critically acclaimed strategy title, Frostpunk. Similar to Cataclismo, this title blends city-building, strategy, and management gameplay. The player takes on the role of a leader of a resource-starved metropolis. In Frostpunk 2, you must face a new deadly threat that appears on the horizon – human nature and its unsatiated thirst for power.

Breachway (July)

The roguelike deckbuilder, Breachway is entering early access sometime in July. In this title, you’ll gather a crew, build up a ship, and engage in turn-based battles as you travel through space. The game is designed around multiple playthroughs as you’ll get stronger cards with each expedition.

Nara: Facing Fire (July)

Nara: Facing Fire is an upcoming fantasy metroidvania focused on exploration, fluid and responsive movement, difficult boss fights, and thrilling escape sequences. This title has many game features that make it seem like a promising title. Not only is it an indie title but it is similar to other phenomenal titles like Hollow Knight.

Rebellion GODSOUL: Awakening (July)

This title is a cyberpunk / mythical beast girl card battler. Not much is known about this title but it’s guaranteed to be a hit on Steam. Risque anime girl games and card battlers tend to do the best according to steam analytics so since this game has both aspects it’s sure to be a winner. If you’re a fan of cyberpunk aesthetics, anime, and card battling then be sure not to miss it.

Captain Contraption’s Chocolate Factory (July)

Captain Contraption’s Chocolate Factory is another simulation game releasing in July. The player will use a simple set of tools to create machines to automate the production of chocolate. A very low stakes title for those who enjoy puzzles, building, and other simulation games.
