UK Retailer GAME Will Not Stock Mass Effect 3

UK Retailer GAME Will Not Stock Mass Effect 3

None

According to a recent article by Eurogamer, UK retailer GAME will not be stocking copies of Mass Effect 3 for its launch week. The game “may be stocked in the future,” but even if this is so, we do not know when. Anyone who pre-ordered the game with a deposit will receive a full refund and £5 worth of store credit. Customers that have ordered the game online will be provided with an online voucher for £5 which can then be spent at any GAME online store.

IGN has dug up this memo from GAME HQ which details the strange decision: “We committed to only stocking products on which we could get the right credit terms, regardless of the title or the supplier. We will not stock products if the terms are not right for our business – we will not sacrifice long-term credit requirements for short term sales opportunities.”

This is just another in a long line of troubles for GAME. Similar issues cropped up with The Last Story and the Ubisoft Vita launch lineup. In addition, orders on FIFA Street, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, and The Sims 3: Showtime are no longer being accepted, all of these titles also being published by EA. Mario Party 9, a Nintendo title, also won’t be stocked for its release week.
