Vita Not Supporting Multiple PSN Accounts Now?

None

Last week, PlayStation Vita worshipers were a little miffed at Sony when news that only one PSN account could be logged in per console . But the fan base forgave them when Sony’s Crystal MacKenzie reported that this was not actually the case .

Well, get ready to be miffed again, because it turns out that the original report was unfortunately more accurate. Owners will need to perform a factory reset on their systems in order to log in to a second PSN account.

“[The] PSN account is tied to the hardware and the memory card, not just the card, which means that if a second person is using your Vita, it’s not just a case of switching out memory cards,” Sony told Wired, “it’s clearing out all of your saved data on the Vita itself when you do the factory reset. In other words, PlayStation Vita is intended to be played by only one user.”

Obviously, this problem isn’t going to affect a ton of people, but it does seem a little greedy on Sony’s part. Though, I don’t like it when my friends touch my things anyway. So this might be a good excuse.

In Japan, the Vita hits shelves in a couple of days, but Americans will have to wait until February 22. Unless you pre-ordered the First Edition Bundle . Then you get it on the 15th. Lucky.
