Was The Mythic Kickstarter A Fraud?

Was The Mythic Kickstarter A Fraud?

None

Recently, a Kickstarter for a game called Mythic: The Story of Gods and Men started up. The Kickstarter asked for $80,000 in donations in order to create an RPG that rivaled such big names as World of Warcraft and Skyrim. Supposedly, the game would be made by former Activision Blizzard developers.

The Kickstarter had raised $5,000 dollars before being canceled. Though Kickstarter and the parent company of the project, Little Monster, did not comment on why the page was canceled, Little Monster had come under fire for some pretty shady business practices before the Kickstarter’s closing.

A few potential donors did some research into the company to find that Little Monster actually doesn’t exist. The pictures of their office on the Kickstarter page actually belong to another company. In addition, most of the artwork for Mythic was stolen and the rewards were word-for-word copied from The Banner Saga’s Kickstarter page.

Before the Kickstarter was closed, fans were donating a dollar just so they could comment and say that the project was a scam. Little Monster’s Kickstarter account has since been deleted.
