Watch Dogs: Possibly Being Released This Year, Maybe On Wii U?

A bunch of rumors have been flying around about Watch Dogs, the cyberpunk title that we’ve been talking about since E3. Supposedly, marketing materials were leaked to Kotaku that indicate that the game will receive a fall release. This seems odd considering we haven’t yet actually seen a playable version of the game yet, just trailers.

The marketing materials say that the game will come to “all home consoles.” Ubisoft has previously confirmed that the game will be coming out on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, but “all home consoles” seems to suggest that the title will also be released on the Wii U. New listings at GameStop, Amazon, and Best Buy support this theory.

Ubisoft has not officially commented on this information, providing instead a non-committal acknowledgement of the hype to Kotaku. “Ubisoft is pleased with the response for Watch Dogs from media and fans. The game is an original IP that has been created from the ground up at Ubisoft Montreal with inspiration from many titles and ideas the studio has worked on throughout the years.”
