What Are The Most Pirated Games Of 2011?

None

Up until a few minutes ago, if you had asked me to name the most pirated games of 2011, I would have tossed out names like Modern Warfare 3, and Battlefield 3. And, while those games are well represented, none of them grabbed the top spot. TorrentFreak has put together a list of the most pirated games in 2011, and the front-runners might surprise you.

On the PC, Crysis 2 topped off the list, which seems strange because it hasn’t sold anywhere near as well as EA and Activision’s big titles. Strangely, the Xbox version of Crysis 2 didn’t even make the list.

Gears of War 3 was downloaded 890,000 times, which makes it the most pirated game on the Xbox 360. Modern Warfare 3 played second fiddle on both the Xbox 360 and PC with Battlefield 3 rounding out the top 3. EA and Activision must be so proud.

The family friendly Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Mario Sports Mix took top honors on the Wii, with Xenoblade Chronicles collecting the bronze medal. LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, a game aimed at kids under the age of 10, took the 4th spot, which forces me to wonder if parents are stealing games for their children.
