Windows 10 Release Date Confirmed

Windows 10 Release Date Confirmed

Microsoft has recently confirmed Windows 10’s release date. You will be able to pick up a brand new copy of the new OS on July 29, according to Terry Myerson, Microsoft’s Executive Vice President of Operating Systems. Many Windows users have already been receiving notices through Windows Update that a Windows 10 download will be available. They can opt in to the free upgrade and will be notified by e-mail when their download is ready, although once again this will likely take a few months.

Unfortunately, Microsoft’s original offer, which seemed to extend the offer of a Windows 10 upgrade even to pirated copies of windows, seems no longer to apply.

“While our free offer to upgrade to Windows 10 will not apply to non-genuine Windows devices, as we’ve always done, we will continue to offer Windows 10 to customers running devices in a non-genuine state.” Myerson said.

“Non-genuine Windows has a high risk of malware, fraud, public exposure of your personal information, and a higher risk for poor performance or feature malfunctions,” he added. “Non-genuine Windows is not supported by Microsoft or a trusted partner.”
