We recently reported on a rumored Xbox One Media Remote that would allow you to control your Xbox One dashboard without a controller. It showed up on several electronic retail sites, but was never confirmed by Microsoft, until now. According to Microsoft’s Major Nelson, the Xbox One Media Remote will launch in early March and will retail for the speculated price of $24.99.
The remote itself is exactly the same as the leaked pictures had us believe. It’s a barebones little brick that has simple play, fast forward, pause, and stop buttons, as well as a few menu buttons and arrows. It actually gives you less control over your system than a simple controller, or even than Kinect voice controls. But, some people still want to couch surf like you did in the old days of clickers and antennae, so to each their own.
