You know we’re two years into the life cycle of a Microsoft console when news of a UI update starts making the rounds. During E3 last week, one of the bits of news that was largely overlooked was Microsoft announcing the system overhaul dated for later this fall. There’s lots of tweaks – both visual and otherwise – scheduled for the update, so let’s take a look at a few of them.
First, we’re looking at a total departure from the Windows 8-themed current dashboard. While most of us have gotten used to it at this point, the new look will be a welcome change, considering 8 never really took hold the way Microsoft was hoping. Additionally, Cortana will be integrated into the system, along with revised community interaction and a promise that the dashboard will be faster than the current one.
Fingers crossed all of this information pans out. We’ll find out in a few short months.
