Xbox Defriends Facebook And Twitter Apps

Xbox Defriends Facebook And Twitter Apps

Microsoft has announced that it will be “retiring” the Xbox 360’s Facebook and Twitter applications as part of the system’s mandatory new Dashboard update .

IGN is reporting that the company has made the move in order to better “streamline” the usage of applications on the console. In other words, Microsoft wants you to use your 360’s new Internet Explorer 9 functionality for all your Facebook and Twitter needs. The browser was included as a major part of the console’s Fall Update.

Microsoft had no comment when pressed on whether or not the original apps would ever return to the system, inevitably deflating the hopes of the dozen people who ever used the apps seriously in the first place.
