XCOM 2 Gets 3 Mods at Launch

XCOM 2 Gets 3 Mods at Launch

Earlier, we learned Long War Team was working with Firaxis to help prepare some mods for XCOM 2 buyers to enjoy at launch. You know, nothing major yet, just something to enjoy. At PAX South 2016, the three mods were detailed.

Two of the Long War Team’s XCOM 2 mods aren’t too huge. One is a submachine gun for soldiers who would normally rely on assault rifles, which makes them more mobile and difficult to detect. The other is a mod that adds more alien enemies. One such example was a support-class Muton.

The most intriguing of the XCOM 2 launch mods is one that allows someone to turn soldiers into leaders. This is an entirely new development path that makes strong characters with supportive abilities. They’re so strong that you can usually only deploy one per a mission in XCOM 2 . Also, their development path is more costly to follow and takes more time to yield improvements. They were compared to XCOM: Enemy Within’ s Psionics.

XCOM 2 will be released on February 5. The three mods will be released in the game’s Steam Workshop on launch day.
