When XCOM 2 launched, Firaxis Studios did something special. It worked with Long War Studios, an established mod-maker for XCOM games, to have day one Leader class, Muton Centurion, and SMG mods. Now, Long Wars Studios has released a fourth and is working on four more.
The newest XCOM 2 Long War Studios mod is Toolbox. It’s immediately available and adds new options. You can now randomize stats for a new soldier or for existing ones on level up, you can adjust damage variations, implement Red Fog so injuries alter stats, and reconfigure cameras on tactical missions. It also offers some UI changes, with one showing soldier stats and the other supporting squads with 12 soldiers in it. It’s a pretty big deal with a lot of things that can make XCOM 2 better.
Three of the four other XCOM 2 mods have been named, too. The Perk Pack and Laser Pack mods will come out the same day. Perk Pack will include new classes, abilities, and the opportunity to make your own classes. Laser Pack is a weapon tier. Alien Pack will come after those two and add 10 new aliens to fight. The fifth mod is currently a secret.
