XCOM : Enemy Unknown quickly rose to become one of the most universally loved tactical games out there, and its sequel, XCOM 2 , is no less celebrated. You can read our review right here , but the bottom line is this: XCOM 2 improves upon its predecessor in every way, and it’s a game that absolutely everyone needs to play. There’s one hang-up, though. Unlike its predecessor, XCOM 2 is only available for PC gamers. Thankfully that’s about to change.
Firaxis and revealed that XCOM 2 will be coming to consoles later this year. Creative director Jake Solomon said in a statement: “The incredible reception of XCOM 2 has been rewarding and humbling for the team, and we’ve known console fans have been clamoring to play the game too. As avid console players ourselves, we’re excited to work with The Workshop to bring XCOM 2 to all of our fans.” The Workshop is a newer developer founded by Treyarch veterans, so we trust this port is in good hands. XCOM 2 will invade PS4s and Xbox Ones on September 6.
