A Gundam Fighter is Coming Next Year as a Vita Exclusive

A Gundam Fighter is Coming Next Year as a Vita Exclusive

Mechs, dude. Specifically: Gundams. They’re coming for your Vita next year, and that’s pretty much all you need to know.

Seriously, though, this announcement came out of nowhere. I’m not sure if Bandai Namco is on a roll or if we’re picking up on the funky Japanese announcements because of the holiday slowdown, but we’ll take it either way. Apparently there is a fresh PlayStation Vita exclusive to get excited about: Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS-Force. These games are huge in Japan; the Gundam VS franchise has put out more than 10 games across multiple platforms and arcades in the east, and now we get to see what the big deal is in the states.

If you’ve never watched Gundam, all you need to know is that you’re going to be piloting huge, badass mechs, blowing stuff up, and battling other huge, badass mechs. You’ll be playing through various scenarios set in the Mobile Suit Gundam universe in intense 2v2 battles, as well as taking part in bigger squad-based battles where you’ll command a team of 6 mobile suits and 1 battleship. These bigger battles will be played out in single-player and local multiplayer modes. All we know is that the game is set to come stateside next year. When we get more solid details, you’ll be the first to know.
