Activision Blizzard’s Making MLG.tv Better

Activision Blizzard’s Making MLG.tv Better

Back in January, Activision Blizzard purchased the MLG content streaming eSports platform for $46 million. It was a big deal, and everyone wondered what the company would do with its new acquisition. Now, we have some idea. It’s working to make it better with an eSports streaming network that will have live broadcasts on MLG.TV and Facebook Live, Chris Puckett as a new host, and an Enhanced Viewing Experience.

Here’s how things are going to go down. At the MLG Anaheim Open on June 10, 2016, a two day Call of Duty: Black Ops III tournament, all of MLG.tv’s new features and content launches. It’ll be the start of the live competition broadcasts on both the website and Facebook Live. The EVE will give people an HD stream with up-to-date leaderboards and match statistics. You’ll also get insights showing up based on what’s happening at this very moment. Puckett, a former professional gamer and experienced broadcaster, will host a daily ESR broadcast going over important events and doing interviews with famous professional gamers.

This is a big deal for professional gaming. eSports have been taken more and more seriously in recent years, and Activision Blizzard is a company that creates and publishes major esport games like Call of Duty , Starcraft , Heroes of the Storm , Warcraft III , and potentially Overwatch . Given their insight and titles, we could see many great and important events on MLG.tv!
