Animal Crossing: New Leaf Sells 6 Million Copies

Animal Crossing: New Leaf Sells 6 Million Copies

Earlier this week, Nintendo participated in a lengthy financial briefing and reported that Animal Crossing: New Leaf on the 3DS has sold approximately 6.35 million copies between the months of April and September. According to a financials briefing information sheet , the Nintendo 3DS has benefitted greatly from having a strong lineup of first-party titles all year long.

Several of the other notable games that made the list include Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon with 3.13 million, Tomodachi Collection with 1.63 million, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team with 1.37 million, and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D with 1.19 million copies sold. With Pokémon X and Y out now and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds coming out next month, the 3DS is already guaranteed to have an amazing rest of the year.

With all the success that the Nintendo 3DS is having, many have continued to wonder if the Wii U will ever reach its full potential . I have always maintained the belief that if Nintendo releases games for the platform then they will easily get back in the good graces of everyone. Next year will be a supreme test for the company and I personally am looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us all.

Do any of you believe that the Wii U is destined to have a better sales year in 2014? Please feel free to let us know your thoughts on the topic in the comments section below.
