DICE is riding high right now on the Battlefield 3 publicity, but they haven’t forgotten about their less popular properties and the ardent fans thereof. I speak particularly of Mirror’s Edge, that oft-forgotten, first-person, parkour platformer that became something of a cult favorite for its addictive, high-rise navigation. Its combat worked against its natural rhythm, and rarely has simply getting from point A to point B in a level been so engaging. Patrick Liu, a producer at DICE, feels that it might be time for a sequel. In an interview with SPOnG, he said that, “We see that there’s a huge fan following, it’s almost like a cult! And we know what strengths we had, and what weaknesses we had in that game. If we were to release a new game, we’d know what to improve and how to reach a broader audience. So I definitely think there’s a market there.”
