Battlefield has been Call of Duty’s primary contender in the world of military shooters. However, it has been a while since we saw a Battlefield game in the Bad Company line. Many fans are worried that the spin-off series has died, but according to DICE, this isn’t true.
“My feeling is that I would love to do it. For me, when we started the company with 1942, it was really a work of passion,” said Lars Gustavsson, creative director of the Battlefield series. “And then we worked our way through the era of different wars, and I loved them all, like my little babies. When it came to Bad Company , it was creative freedom; don’t take yourself too seriously.”
Gustavsson went on to say that whether or not it can happen right now is a difficult proposition what with games like Mirror’s Edge 2 and Star Wars: Battlefront on the horizon. But he assures us that the Bad Company series has not been forgotten, they are just on a “very long vacation.”
