Do you think you’re ready to go off the rails with Rocket League’ s Rumble mode? Don’t worry, you do have a choice. A free update has released that adds the new mode to the game, and it’s quite different from the typical experience.
Rumble feels a bit more frantic and cartoon-y than typical Rocket League ( a soccer-car game can get more silly?). While you’re playing the game in Rumble Mode, either offline or online, privately or in exhibition matches, you can acquire one of eleven different power ups that makes it easier to get the ball and help your team win. The abilities are The Boot, Disruptor, Freezer, Grappling Hook, Haymaker, Magnetizer, Plunger, Power Hitter, Spike, Swapper, and Tornado.
Rocket League now also has a Crates and Keys system. You might get a crate during a match, which you’d then have to pay for keys to unlock. Don’t worry, the things inside are all cosmetic items. A key is $1.50 on its own, or can be purchased in a $5 bundle that has five, $10 bundle with 10, or $20 bundle with $20. The money will fund Rocket League eSport events.
Finally, Rocket League is now in beta on Mac and Linux. So even if you can’t actually indulge in Rumble and other soccer car fun right now due to compatibility issues, you will be able to soon. You’ll love it once you can!
