Assassin’s Creed IV and Watch_Dogs PSN Bonus Content Will Be Exclusive for 6 Months

Assassin’s Creed IV and Watch_Dogs PSN Bonus Content Will Be Exclusive for 6 Months

Earlier this week, Sony released a brand new PlayStation 4 promotional video titled “The Best Place To Play” (embedded above). In this clever marketing campaign, Sony highlights some of the key reasons why the PlayStation 4 should be at the top of everyone’s list when making any and all next-gen console purchasing decisions. A few of the points emphasized in the ad include quotes about the system’s powerful capabilities and a stunning lineup of over 180 games that are currently being developed.

While these two factors alone are enough to win over consumers, the video also revealed that both the Assassin’s Creed IV and Watch_Dogs PSN bonus content will only be exclusive to the platform for 6 months. Both games are expected to have roughly 60 minutes each of bonus content in the form of additional missions for players to embark on. As the exclusivity deal dictates, these missions will be accessible on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of each game. After the 6-month period is up, that same content can become available on the other platforms including the Xbox One, Wii U, Xbox 360, and PC.

This particular move isn’t at all surprising because both Sony and Microsoft are notorious for striking deals on timed exclusive content with different publishers. This was a practice that became the norm during the current console generation and it will most certainly be an even bigger deal for next-gen.

Now that you know that the bonus content on both Assassin’s Creed IV and Watch_Dogs is timed, will this ultimately impact your purchasing decisions of either title? Please feel free to let me know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below.
