Assassin’s Creed IV Outsells Battlefield 4 on UK Charts

What do you think gamers like better, relentless murder with guns or relentless murder with pirate ships? Hard data says that pirate ships win the day, as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has outsold Battlefield 4 in the UK. According to Chart Track, ACIV and BF4 were numbers one and two on the sales charts for the week ending in November 2 nd . Grand Theft Auto V , which has been topping the charts in the past few weeks , has dropped to slot three, followed by FIFA 14 and Batman: Arkham Origins .

Of course, there are a few snags in this data. For example, Assassin’s Creed IV came out in European territories on Tuesday of last week, while Battlefield 4 came out on Friday, giving it more time to pick up sales momentum. In addition, both titles sold less than their predecessors did in the same time period. Ubisoft and EA are attributing this drop in sales to gamers waiting for the release of next-gen consoles to pick up a copy.

Will these two games continue to reign supreme, or will they be dethroned by Call of Duty: Ghosts , which comes out this week? We will keep you updated as new sales figures come out.
