Atari’s Centipede and Missile Command Heading to Big Screens

Atari’s Centipede and Missile Command Heading to Big Screens

More weird games that you wouldn’t expect to are being turned into movies. Atari and Emmett/Furla Oasis Films will be making movies inspired by Centipede and Missile Command . Surprised? I mean, if Tetris! The Movie and a Monopoly movie are in the works, why not these too?

So far, only a deal has been made. Atari and EFO Films haven’t done any real work on either the Centipede or Missile Command movies, despite the latter having been an idea since 2011. We do know EFO Films’ Randall Emmett and George Furla will be the producers, while Atari, Stephen Belafonte, Wayne Marc Godfrey, and Robert Jones will executive produce the projects.

Honestly, Centipede and Missile Command movies might not be so bad. Especially if EFO Films went the B-movie route for Centipede , making something like Them! or Beginning of the End, which are wonderfully goofy and campy movies. Missile Command could get away with being something more serious, perhaps turning into a movie like Cloverfield or Independence Day? All I’m saying is, both would absolutely make better movies than Tetris.
