Bastion’s Better than Backwards Compatible on Xbox One

Bastion’s Better than Backwards Compatible on Xbox One

The Xbox One has a rather admirable backwards compatibility list. Plenty of Xbox 360 games work on the system now, but that’s pretty much the extent of what’s done. There are some tweaks made to let people play these old games on the new system, but that’s it. Nothing is improved. Supergiant Games isn’t doing that with Bastion . It’s actually updating the game so the Xbox One version will be better than the original, but still temporarily free.

Here’s what’s going to happen. On December 12, Bastion will be released on the Xbox One. It’s been rebuilt so it includes The Stranger’s Dream DLC, runs in 1080p, and has more achievements than ever before. In case you don’t remember, The Stranger’s Dream has a narrated new adventure, a No-Sweat Mode, and a Score Attack Mode. Everyone who already purchased the Xbox 360 version of Bastion will get the Xbox One version for free until January 1, 2017.

If you don’t already have Bastion , then there’s one more thing to like about this deal. The updated Xbox One version will only be $15. That’s the same price as the standard Xbox 360 version. Even though you’re getting more, you aren’t paying more. It’s great!
