Battlefield 3 Gets Massive PS3 Update

Battlefield 3 Gets Massive PS3 Update

None

Battlefield 3 received an incredible 1GB update yesterday on the PlayStation 3. With this update comes the option to rent servers, allowing players to customize the rules exactly as they like.

Karl-Magnus Troedsson, CEO of Battlefield developer DICE had this to say about the new functionality: “All active players out there playing on consoles today will now have the opportunity to customize their servers and set them up exactly how they want them to play. Now this is a feature that in Battlefield on PC we’ve had for some time, but it’s an absolute first on console. So, we’re pretty excited about this.”

The new patch ingrates a server rental menu right into the game. Servers can be rented in increments of 1 day ($1.49), 7 days ($6.99), 30 days ($24.99) and 90 days ($64.99). The same functionality will come to the Xbox 360 “soon,” but no date was given.
