Some games are happy to sell one million copies in their lifetime. That being said, it’s pretty impressive for Battlefield 3 to break 1.25 million sales in pre-orders alone. EA has said that this is well over ten times as many pre-orders as Battlefield: Bad Company 2 had, and that game went on to sell nine million units. Who knows how many units Battlefield 3 will sell… Regardless of all the hype and huge pre-order numbers, EA has said that it doesn’t expect Battlefield 3 to sell more than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the top FPS on the market. Pre-order sales figures for Modern Warfare 3 have not yet been released, so we can’t compare the two at this time.
